The Fite collection was born out of the founder, Holly Peterson’s, search for the perfect shirt. One that would stand alone, pull every outfit together with ease and still maintain its luster after 20 washes.
Fite is female-founded, proudly produced in Los Angeles and headquartered in San Francisco. Every month Fite donates a large shipment of shirts to help Dress for Success, their charity initiative that assists under-resourced women in finding jobs to support their family and break the cycle of poverty.
Q: Why did you choose your present industry at this time?
There was a void in the marketplace for a luxury shirt that would pull all my separates together beautifully.
Q: What is the best/worst moment you can remember in your career?
The best moment: I used to work in Real Estate and in my first year I was designated "Rookie of the Year,” San Francisco has so many great agents, it was a special moment.
The worst moment: When you realize people who you trust are not being honest with you. However I believe obstacles are detours in the right direction, so I try and learn to pick up on the ques and move forward.
Q: Who is your role model or hero?
Katharine Hepburn - she was unapologetic and fiercely independent.

Q: Tell us about the exact moment you came up with your business idea. How did you decide to go ahead with that one, instead of others?
A friend and I were enjoying a glass of Chablis while playing bridge in London, I was telling her how I couldn't find a beautiful tee shirt I could wear with everything, and she said why don't we make one! Her circumstance at the time did not allow for her to put in the time and capital needed to continue so we agreed I would need to move forward on my own. By that time my heart and soul were already committed to the concept and I really wanted the shirt for my own wardrobe.
Q: What is your favorite book?
The Universe Has Your Back: Transform Fear to Faith by Gabrielle Bernstein.
Q: Do you use any specific method or system to run daily operations of your business?
I've employed a very tight-knit team who are strong in their fields. We work off a five-year vision with the ability to shift direction based on our clients' needs and feedback. We see each other daily in the office and have candid conversations, it allows for transparency in the office and in our day-to-day.

Q: Looking back - if you could advise a younger version of yourself to do something different - what would it be?
Always put your plan in writing (personal, spiritual, business, health) and an embrace will change as it is one thing you will consistently experience. Keep sight of the vision, your light at the end of the tunnel and know the path will change but the light won’t.
